Since the inception of Atholton, in 1958, its members have been committed to Christian Education. Building the Atholton Adventist School with three classrooms and an office for the first teacher and 13 students, followed by a full size gymnasium (1962) a kitchen (1964), and years later the sanctuary (1975).
Over the years the commitment of Atholton members added basement rooms (1986) under the sanctuary and an entire two story school building with 8 classrooms, an office and library (2006). Most recently, we have completed two things: 1) the refurbishment of our forty-eight year old worship space which is also used as the Atholton Adventist Academy chapel, and 2) we now officially have full academy status, which means not only do we offer grades PreK-12 but graduation diplomas are given through Atholton Adventist Academy.
What still needs to be accomplished with donations to the Legacy of Light Capital Campaign?
Here’s what we aim to achieve together:
We’re currently in the process of clearing space for our brand new Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) for PreK 3, PreK 4, and Kindergarten students. This building will be tailored for their unique learning needs and is currently estimated to be ready for use in the 2026-2027 school year.
In conjuction with the new building comes the desire for more defined spaces. The addition of the ECLC, will allow elementary, middle, and high school students to each have their own separate and defined spaces, designed to inspire learning, creativity, and collaboration.
